Head of the Executive Board of IMIDRO: Ardakan of Yazd to be Able to Produce 2mil Tons of Steel Annually
Exploitation of Arfa steel plant and Ghadir Iranian plant will change Ardakan of Yazd to one of the steel production hubs of the country which can produce 2mil tons of steel per year. 

Engineer Ahmad Ali Harati Nik, Head of the Executive Board of Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO), said at his visit to IMIDRO plans in Ardakan: “During the last 4 years important actions have been taken for the development of steel industry including 1.2mil ton increase in production capacity of Mobarakeh Steel, putting into operation the Khuzestan Steel plant with 800,000 ton capacity and the recent event was putting into operation the no.3 furnace of Esfahan Steel Company all of which are very important.” Mentioning the preparation of LC for iron and steel projects of Arfa and Ghadir Iranian plants asked the responsible and contractors to speed up the execution of the plan and said: 

“Considering the existence of pellet plant at the location of these plants, there would be no problem for that.”
 
Mentioning that the engineering section of the plan has been physically progressed up to 87-97 percent, Engineer Farshad,the Managing Director of Ghadir Iranian Iron and Steel Plan said at this ceremony: “The contractors guaranteed that the engineering shortcomings would be compensated and all the local and foreign purchases have been accomplished. More over 85 percent of clearances and utility transportation from abroad and 65 percent of the local utility transportation to the site were performed by the end of the 4th month of this Iranian year.” 

He added: “Utility installations have been started since the beginning of the 4th month and it will be finished by the end of the 7th month of this Iranian year according to a two shift schedule. Putting into operation and testing will be started in the 10th month and production will begin in the 11th month of this year.” 

Mentioning that despite the delayed start of the plan the high speed of the progress will cause to finish it in 32 months, Engineer Keyvanara, Managing Director of Arfa Iron and Steel Plan said: “The first utility cargo have reached to Bandar Abbas and the outsider utilities will be loaded in next two months. 1900 tons of metal structure and 1600 tons of direct reduction utilities have been constructed.” 

Mentioning that the Italians have helped us in furnace construction and we are no more worried about that he said: “There is no problem in credit issues and the credit will be available to the contractor after 72 days.”
